Description

Catena Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium Argentinian red wine from Mendoza, known for its rich, concentrated fruit flavors, elegant structure, and aging potential.

Origin and Winery

Catena Cabernet Sauvignon is produced by Catena Zapata, one of Argentina’s most awarded wineries, founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena. The winery is renowned for pioneering high-altitude viticulture in Mendoza and for reviving Malbec, while also producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic vineyards in the Agrelo Appellation and other high-altitude sites The vineyards benefit from deep clay soils, moderate climate, and alluvial origins, which contribute to the wine’s robust tannins and smooth finish

Tasting Profile

This Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and concentrated, with a complex aroma and flavor profile. Typical notes include blackberry, plum, cassis, cherry, and red fruits, complemented by spice, black pepper, clove, cedar, leather, and tobacco The palate is rich and layered, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering, elegant finish. Some vintages also display subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak from French oak barrel aging
